Will you still need me, will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four...

One of my Beatles favourites played at my wedding.

Fast track 40 years on and the man at my side is no longer there, but at 64, I’ve started a new business and kicked the R word – retirement – down the road. Still, it is clattering about, causing more noise than ever before. My intention therefore is to explore Life in the R lane – the changing approaches and directions. I hope you will join me on this journey.

About Me

My name is Jenny Cargill and I live in Cape Town, undoubtedly, one of the world’s most beautiful cities.

Much of my life has been about change and transformation. I like to join up thinking and doing. This has permeated my work as a journalist, activist, entrepreneur, author and now an adviser to governments on working differently.

I am a protagonist in a film on the fight against apartheid. I love playing with new ideas – and making them real, if possible.

Our lives have become a series of rapid transitions. All generations are impacted. In this blog, I want to document how that pans out for the likes of me – and I welcome you to share your thoughts and actions.
